    ---" I have invited her for dinner."
    " It is great!"
    " It was great!"

    "is" or "was", which one? pls.

    If it is in response to the first sentence, then "That is great" would be the correct sentence.

    I have invited her for dinner - statement about something that you have done in the past. That is great - response in the present = "I am glad to hear that".


    "I invited her for dinner. It was great" = I invited her and she came to dinner, and we had a good time,

    I. "am" or "was" , which one is right?
    II. If "am" is right, in what kind situation we should say" I was sorry"?
