    how do we call this action..

    when we watch an american-movie, we may see some people using their side face to touch other's side face, they are welcome to each other but not kissing. Asians seldom has this kind of cultural but only found in either europe or states. So how do we call it? I hope guys of here can get a picture... thanks...

    It's called an "air kiss." When touching cheeks (or putting our face near the other person's cheek) we make a soft sort of "kiss" sound. It's a way of saying, "How are you, nice to see you, but not so much that I'd kiss you on the lips."
