How do I teach "too & enough" to a group of 8th graders?
Use examples that use easy adjectives that operate in parallel.
Create real life situations that the students can walk around and practice at stations.
At one station, place a pencil so high that no child or teacher can reach it.
Teacher [models] [I can't reach it.] It's too high. I'm not tall enough.
Other stations can have,
It's too far away. My arm isn't long enough.
It's too expensive. I don't have enough money.
Student [standing on a (safe) stool, reaching for some object] It's too low down. My arm isn't long enough.
It's too hot. My hand isn't tough enough. [safety safety safety]
