    Smile a big/small smile

The friendly doorman greeted me with a big smile as I walked into the hotel.

What does a big smile conjure up in your mind? Is there a small smile as opposed to it? Thanks.

    Re: a big/small smile

A big smile is a wide grin that shows the teeth. A small smile is one where the lips are kept pressed together and the corners of the mouth turn up just ever so slightly.
