    In the end/As a resultTherefore

Sodas aren't the only drinks going down kids throats. Sugary tea, coffee, and iced drinks are also being drunk instead of plain water. In the end, this can cause obsesity, tooth decay, and even affect brain development.

For a start, does iced drinks refer to drinks that have been put in the refrigerator for a while or drinks that contain ice in it? Or both?

Second, is it proper to replace In the end with As a result/Therefore/So?
    Thanks.

It is unclear what this refers to. Better: "The habitual consumption of sugary drinks can lead to...."

Iced drinks contain ice in them. Chilled drinks have been put in the refrigerator or freezer for a time.

If what you mean by In the end is that something was caused by something else, they you could also use As a result. (In this case, I would eliminate In the end altogether.)

Thanks, Ronbee, for your correction and helpful reply.
As a minor aside, do you imply that In the end and Therefore are not the same in meaning as As a result?

They do not, I think, mean the same thing. (Similar, perhaps, but not the same.)
