    simple present / past tense

    I heard these from movies:

    "How about your job?"
    "I get it."
    Why not use " got", but "get"?

    "Did you do it?"
    "NO, I don't"
    Why not "didn't", but "don't"

    Does it mean sometimes the simple present and past tense are same in above case? Please.

    Could you let us know which movie it was, Puzzle and also, could you provide more context?
