    can anybody lend me a hand to tell the difference between these three words:influence, affact and effect?

    You do mean the verbs, don't you?

    influence = have the power to change or alter something
    He influenced the future of the company when he launched the new product.

    affect = to make a difference to something or to touch someone's feelings
    The way in which she speaks to people affects the way in which they see her.

    The words of the song affected me deeply.


    effect = cause something to happen
    She effected the change of programme after arguing that it was essential.
