    Just your average Joe?

Is "just your average Joe" a slang in US? Can you tell me its meaning and origin? Thank you.

    Re: Just your average Joe?

"Average Joe" is quite common in AmE to describe someone who is not unusual in any way, just an average guy. Sometimes we'll also refer to him as "Joe Blow" or "Joe Six-Pack" (six-pack referring to a standard-sized package of beer, the preferred drink of your blue-collar Everyman).
