    Smile mean/bitter

    Michelle searched for Derrick's name online and found his blog. What she read really bothered her. Many things on his blog were negative--even bitter.

    For me, mean and bitter are really so close in meanings to the extent that I can't tell them apart. Would you give a few tips as for their basic differences? Thanks.

    Re: mean/bitter

    "Mean" = unkind.

    "Bitter" = expressing anger and hate.
