    Hi there,
I will sit OR sit for an examination.

    Is 'sit for' Australian English?

    Re: sit

I will sit is in the future. I will sit an examination next year.
I sit is in the present (simple). I sit an examination every year.

sitfor might be Australian English. In British English we say I sit an examination or I sit my examination.
