    "The" grammar problem

    Greetings to all,

    The government of the United States of America

    The government of United States of America

    Of the two sentences shown above, which one is grammatically correct as of the usage of "the"?

    The first statement is the correct statement.

    There is only one USA and therefore we use the definite article.
