in the end/at the end, arrive to/arrive at

    Hi there,

I would like to know when to use in the end or at the end. E.g In/at the end of the trip, the class?
I would like to know when to use arrive at and arrive to. E.g Arrive at/to the concert?

    Are these sentences correct?
-My mother bought for us the tickets / my mother bought the tickets for us
-We were/got stuck in the traffic
    -We were/got in a gridlock
-We started to run for arriving on time

    And finally,

-Is it possible to say prinicipal roar or should be main road?

    Thanks!!

-We started to run for arriving on time We started to run in order to arrive in time/on time.

    And finally,

-Is it possible to say principal road or should be main road? Main road is more usual. You can use "principal road" in this context: The principal road from London to Edinburgh is the A/M1."

    Thanks!!
