    what does this mean?

I saw a sample letter like this:
I have written to you several times over the past three
months requesting an explanation on why you have failed
to bring your account with us current.

It is a notice before collections on delinquent account. I don't know what "current" means in this context. could anybody give me an explanation? thank you in advance.

    Re: what does this mean?

In this case, current means paid on time (within the current time period allowed for paying your bill). When an account is not paid within the time period allowed (usually 30 days) it becomes delinquent, past due or overdue.
