    Grammatically ok - but a peculiar statement. You either catch a cold or you do not catch a cold. It is not really possible to "almost not catch a cold".

    True.
    I heard somebody say this, and I was quite confused. I know it seems odd but I couldn't guess why.

    Re: Is this good?

    Do you mean "I rarely catch a cold" or like; I was almost catching a cold but I didn't?

    Actually what he means is:
    "I don't usually catch a cold." Similar to what you have there...

    Anglika,

    Do you say this?

    "I thought I'm gonna catch a cold."

    If it's a general statement as you said, I think Anglika's corretion is wrong since she used past tence.

    Did I? Where?

    Blouen - you would more usually say "I though I was going to catch a cold" Or "I thought I was catching a cold".

    Good, good, good!

    "I thought I was going to catch a cold last night as I was sneezing all the time."

    "I thought I was catching a cold when I got soaked to the skin in last night's rain."

    How about these Anglika?

    So is it still correct to say?;

    I thought I was catching a cold or I almost did not catch a cold.

    Later edited :I think I was wrong since he liked the answer. I am sorry ;)
