    whatever

    Hello everyone,
I'd like to ask about the meaning of 'whatever' in the following passage.

Bowles was now standing over two corpses. At first, he was just staring at them.
Then, out of nowhere, he started kicking one of them over and over again.
Gallaher rolled her eyes. "Dish, for God's sake, will you cut that out?"
Turning around, Bowles said, "Whatever." Then shot all three in the face.

    Re: whatever

It's a throwaway comment, implying "so what?", "It's not important". It does not have a specific meaning.
