    front

    Hi there,

Are 'at' and 'in' correctly used in the following sentences? If yes, what is the difference between two?
    Many thanks

They were sitting at the front in the classroom.
They were sitting in the front row in the classroom.

    Re: front

    Your first sentence is correct.

    Note these:

They were sitting at the front
They were sitting in the classroom.

Now, when you use the word, "row", the expression is, the front, middle, last (etc) row of a classroom, theatre etc
    So:
They were sitting at the front of the classroom.
