    can we use this "Boil down simplify, reduce to the essentials" phrazal verb in math?

    I have never heard of "boil down" used in mathematics but I suppose it is possible. You would have to give us an example of how you would propose to use the term.

    "Boil down" is usually used in cooking instructions or explaining detailed arguments.
