Is it correct "My mother was in great dismay when my brother was lost."
How can we use dismay? Are there any rules for its usage?

    Re: dismay

    Your usage is acceptable.

dismay implies that one is disconcerted and at a loss as to how to deal with something <dismayed at the size of the job>

    I hope this helps,
