    which or who

    Hi there,
    I don't know whether I should use 'which' and 'who' in the following examples.

    1. ....... school (which/ who)....
    2. ....... family (which/ who)...
    3. ..... community (which/ who)....

    Pete, You have not given us much to go on but I am inclined to think that "which" is correct for all three.

    When family is thought of as a group of people. who is used.
    For example,
    I met a family who had left their village 40 miles away and travelled for two days with their horse and cart. (From Collins Cobuild)

    Community and school
    are rarely used in this way.
