    Question the meaning of "tax"

    hi, anybody please explain to me what is the meaning of "taxing" in this sentence?

    The Global Trading and Manufacturing Company has grown exponentially in the past three years, taxing its technology, infrastructure, and business processes.

    David, thank you for answering my question. but i still don't know what the word "tax" means in this context. i asked others, and there are two version in understanding this sentence:
    a) due to its technology, infrastructure and business processes, the company has grown exponentially.
    b) the rapid grow of the company has burdened a lot to its technology, infrastructure and business processes.
    anyway, i have no idea this sentence is saying it is good or bad of the company's rapid grow?

    If you tax someone's capacities, you are overloading them. It is always negative in implication.
