    a good head on his shoulder

    can you please tell what this means? i know that it sounds simple but for the love of pete, i cannot find the meaning of this phrase or saying. Please help. Thanks

    It means he is a calm, logical, rational person. He can be trusted to show maturity and make good decisions.

    Oh, but I just noticed - it's a good head on his shoulders. Shoulders should be plural.
