    Smile People-to-people communication

People-to-people communication can be predictably difficult when poeple can't interact with one another in the same tongue and have no common cultural backgrounds to share with.

Is the above sample well begotten, especially the underlined parts? If not, how would you revise them? Thanks.

Aaagh - a sentence cannot be begotten! It is not badly written.

    I would prefer "person-to-person communication".

"..and have no common cultural background." By saying "common background" you do not need to include "share" - it is implied.

    Thanks, Anglika.

As a aside, why do you use the singular "background" instead of "backgrounds?" Doesn't the plural form sound right?

Not to me. It is not really possible to share multiple backgrounds.

    Thanks, Anglika.

Is it possible that many people come from various backgrounds? Therefore, the plural form is used.

They come from many backgrounds, but that does not say they share many backgrounds.
