    Hi there

    the complete saying is "if the shoe fits wear it" . it is also referred to "if the cap fits wear it"

    Translated it means if the situation applies to you, then you must accept it, even if it is unflattering.

    Q. "In the meeting yesterday, you made a comment that I was not working hard."

    A. "You have been late all this week, if the shoe fits...!"
