a tricky question to non-native speakers

I encountered a sentnece in a Korean exam, which I found strange.

    The sentence is,
The more math facts you learn, the easier math facts are to be learned.

I think it should be as follows,
The more math facts you learn, the easier math facts are to learn.

Am I right? or the original one has nothing wrong?
    Please, give me an answer!

The second sentence is fine; the first would only work if it read: The more math facts you learn, the easier math facts are learned.

    Or:
... the easier it is to learn math facts.
