    Basking

    Hi dear friends
He was basking in the San Diago sun.
    Can I say:
He is basking in the beach.
He is basking in his bed.

    Thanks so much in advance.

    Re: Basking

As I understand it, you can only bask in light or heat so you can bask in the sun or in the warmth of a fire. However, you can also bask in the adoration of a loved one or in the approval of others. You bask when you savour warmth or comfort literally or figuratively. So you can't bask in anything "solid" like a beach or a bed, only in some kind of radiance. You can bask [B]in[B]the sun [B]on[B] the beach.

    Re: Basking

Glad to have been of help. Sorry about the "b"s in square brackets: they were supposed to make "in" and "on" appear in bold, but for some reason that didn't work and neither did the "Edit" button when I tried to change it. Hope it didn't spoil the explanation.

Thanks really I understand it, what I did is that I ignored the 'b' and read your sentence..
