    Post general note

Please be adviced that John has given permission to Mike to borrow any meterials under his name for next semester, until May 31, 2008.

    Re: general note

If you've given permission to Mike, and you and he have worked it out together as a personal arrangement, what business is it of ours? Or is someone likely to think Mike is stealing your materials? so you wish the public at large to know, it's OK.

If you have given permission for Mike to borrow materials set aside for you, then why are you bothering us with this flabbergasting piece of information? Obviously, you've sorted it all out with the person who controls the materials and who is allowed to borrow them.
