    -ing or -ed?

    Hi,

    Are there any grammar mistakes in the line below?

    The displacement of a ship sailing 8 km from P to Q on a bearing of 75 is denoted

    by PQ and represented by the directed line segment shown in the figure below.


    Should it be "sailing" or "sailed"?

    "Sailing"
    I presume 'directed line segment' is some correct mathematical/vector/trigonometical term.
    I can't see any grammatical errors.
