    Smile sparked/lit/ignited his interest

Three years ago, a group of older kids who were good at doing yo-yo tricks sparked his interest.

Could I replace "sparked" in the above with "lit/ignited" without making a change in meaning? Thanks.

"sparked" is better - it's a stronger collocation in the sense of setting off an interest accidentally. But the other two wouldn't sound wrong.
