    fool enough, fools enough

    Could you please tell me if we can say:

    We were fools enough to believe him. (I'm imitating the sentence in the dictionary: I was fool enough to believe him.)

    I would say:
    We were foolish to believe him.


    It was foolish of us to believe him.
