    I'm looking for a word

What is the word describing" touch sth gently (eg: a face (of the one you love), a belly (after eating) etc.)"?

You stroke or caress a loved one's face; you rub or pat your stomach.

So how about rub when you touch your lovers/ baby gently in the face?

Generally you wouldn't use rub here, unless you were trying to remove something from the face, e.g "She gently rubbed the baby's face clean"
