    Smile a net egg

    It might be a good idea to build a nest egg while you can.


    Does "build a nest egg" refer to "save money?" If yes, why is it this interpretation? If not, what does it mean? Thanks.

    Broadly, yes. I believe ( on the basis of this - A nest-egg - which I've just seen) it originally meant a bit more (making a start, so as to encourage further savings). But whenever I've heard/seen it used, it's meant just 'save money' (though usually a significant amount).
