    is this sentence ok?

    hi,

    "i (have) worked with CICS a lot in the past but it's been a few years since I last worked with it."

    how would you say that?

    ps: CICS is computer software.
    Either the past simple or the present perfect would work just fine, JC. Using the present perfect adds a degree of importance/formality to the sentence, so it might be something a speaker would use in a job interview. But, keep this in mind, it is a matter of speaker choice.
