    happen / happened

Which is correct? I happen to see your posting yesterday. I happened to see your posting yesterday. The second one seems right, but they sound the same. Mark Tse

    Re: happen / happened

"yesterday" indicates that the event is in the past, so the verb will be in the past tense.

Now it happens/If I happen to go there today...
    Yesterday it happened
    Tomorrow it could/will happen
    It has happened.

in my opinion, the second sentence is right. because Yesterday makes this sentence the past. so it has to be " I happened to see your posting yesterday."

It is my opinion and could be wrong.
