    no more ... than

I want to ask how to use "no...more than".

eg, what is the meaning of "Than whom no more sagacious agent could be desired." ?

Can I say "Humans can only no more realize the importance of environmental protection until disasters come than not until health is lost is its value esteemed."?

    Thank you~

    Re: no more ... than

this is taken from E.A.Poe's The Purloined Letter
“Than whom,” said Dupin, amid a perfect whirlwind of smoke, “no more sagacious agent could, I suppose, be desired, or ever imagined.”
within the context of this short story the sentence amounts to
" A task (,namely that of getting back the letter) for which you couldn't find a more capable person"
of course, Poe's English is both a bit dated and probably tailored to fit Mr.Dupin,a Frenchman , as I seem to recall.

I think it should be like
"Man no more realizes the importance of environmental protection than he appreciates the value of health before both are irretrievably lost/gone."
