    correct me

"next week i will make the payment for Rs.20000" - is it correct?

    Re: correct me

    No. Better:

Next week I will make a payment of Rs. 20000.
    or
Next week I will make the payment of Rs. 20000.

You'd use "the payment" if that's the amount expected.
Use "a payment" if you're just advising them what the amount of your payment will be.

Yes..20000 is not expected but that will be amount i could pay that time. so i have to use
"Next week I will make a payment of Rs. 20000" ?

    Re: correct me

    hi,

    can I say "a $20000 payment" instead of "a payment of $2000"?

    thanks,
    jc

    Re: correct me

Sure, both are good. Take your pick.
I'd choose "a payment of ...." especially if the amount is large or complicated: a payment of $12,347,328.78.
