    comrade

    Dear teachers,

I was once told the word comrade can refer to a person who is a gay. Is that true?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you in advance.

That's correct. It means, fellow homosexual; person belonging to the group/cause.

People within the group (i.e. homosexuals) might call each other "comrades", however, people outside the group (i.e. heterosexuals would not use that term "comrade" to refer to homosexuals).
