    Welcome to the Forum!

I would guess that 'debut long player' refers to the new release of a full-length musical album.

    Paraphrase:
'Razorlight fans had to wait a long time for the release of the band's new full-length album.'

The term 'debut long player' is not common usage in the USA. Therefore, we will wait to receive replies from our British friends to see if my guess is correct!

    Cheers,

Re: What is 'debut long player'?

In the old days of vinyl, pop groups would release a hit single on a 45rpm record. They may then release a 33 1/3rpm vinyl record of a number of songs which may include their 'singles' hit. 33 1/3rpm records were known as Long Play records.
This practice continues with CDs, where one or two songs are released on a 'singles' CD, as opposed to a full length 60 min CD. However, 'long player' is not a common term in UK, and is more this reviewer's way of distinguishing between a singles CD and the usual full-length one.
