    dear teachers, please explain. 1. Australia pulled off victory against India. what does pull off mean?

    Generally, if you pull it off you achieve something you weren't expected to be able to do.
    You may be a poor driver, but if you pass your driving test, you pull it off.
    Australia unexpectedly beat India.
