    Cool From left of field

Please, what does it mean "from left of field"?

Found at: All my lecturer's favoured Rembrandt which was a good excuse for me to hate him. So, in a sense, I've come as it were, from left of field."

On the other hand, not quite sure what does it mean "I've come as it were,...

    Thank You

    Re: From left of field

    Hi Bush,

as it were: (como si dijeramos) as we might say

I am looking for left of field, interesting.

it seems to mean: out of the beaten track, something uncommon.....

    Wait for confirmation on this.

    cheers

The Americanism "to come from left field (or leftfield)" (not «left of field») means to come from somewhere remote or unexpected.

As for "as it were", see: "as it were" definition - Google Search
