Question would and will - future

I would open a restaurant in the New York.

I will have 8 tables and about 15 waiters.

could someone please clarify for me at the difference. is it that will is likely to happen and would is unlikely to happen but not impossible?

Re: would and will - future

I would open a restaurant in the New York if I had a million dollars.
'would' is used when there is a condition - I could only own a restaurant if he had a lot of money

I'm opening my new restaurant next week. It will have 8 tables and about 15 waiters.
'will' is used when something is going to happen in the future.

Re: would and will - future

Both will and would are used in conditionals. The difference between them could be gigantic or the difference could be exceedingly small.

A wild optimist who has no chance of getting the money.

I will open a restaurant in the New York if I can raise $200,000.

Someone who is almost certain to get the money from a rich uncle but is being very deferential, preferring to let people believe that it is not a foregone conclusion.

I would open a restaurant in the New York if I can get the money.

The meanings that these modals have do not mean that they are always reflected in situations. Language has to serve many purposes, many nuances, many different emotions.
