    language usage

I need some help related to language usage
1)What is / are the suitable adverb(s) ( really/in fact/ actually) in the sentence below ? According to the instructions of the exercise, there are many possible answers, but I am getting lost. Is it possible to have an explanation about the choice of the adverb (s)?
    2) What is the correct word (When or On?? ) or are both of them correct ?? thank you

Unfortunately, I could only afford language classes twice a week and consequently I had to rely on my own resources to acquire as much english as possible.Really / In fact/ Actually, to my surprise I managed to pass Cambridge First Certificate after only two years. Subsequently, I took the Profiency Exam just before leaving four years ago.On / When returning home, I was lucky enough to find ajob teaching English at the Acadamy school.

    Upon returning home.
But there are spelling problems also.
English is always capitalized in English, as is French.
    Academy is the proper spelling.
