    case or trial?

    Hi

What is the correct choice for the following sentence?

The judge will hear the next .... after a short break.

    a] trial
    b] case

I think that a is correct but I am not sure.

Thank you very much in advance.

I'm not a lawyer, but I have always heard "b", next case, on TV, on radio, and in writing.

Judges have many "cases" come before them, but not all go to trial.
