Is there a general term for people who are no longer students but earners?

Well you're right but I'm not yet satisfied.

I was looking for a term for both "employed and inemployed", if there is one a word, people who are now done with schooling.

    No, not that!

I'm thinking the general term for people who may be fresh grads, employed, unemployed, retired, businessman, etc... as long as you are out of your parents control and schooling.

    Re: into the society

All a bit confusing. Either you are employed or unemployed. Even if you are voluntary worker [unpaid], you are employed in doing something.

Is the "you are out of your parents' control" an important part of this? In Britain, anyone over the age of 18 is no long under their parents' control.

    Re: into the society

Hmmm, I think not so important for there are some here in the Philippines who are above that age but still under their parent's control.

I'm thinking about the status of those people that have now made a debut into society; ideally independent, working, earning a living.
