    bad food

How do you colloquially call an inedible or bad food by using a noun. How would you describe such food in a normal informal conversation?

    thanks

No not really...I'm struggling to think of a name for bad food. You might describe a steak as 'tough as leather' or food may be rotten or 'gone off' but nothing springs to mind.

For example in my language we use an informal word "blaf" which means something like a really inedible and bad food. Therefore im looking for an equivalent of that...
