    shots??

    (Talking about a pet)

    Speaker 1: Even the people at the shop told me: "You have to basicly quarantine it, so that you don't get it sick...because it's only one pound".
    Speaker 2: And how much would the quarantine last?
    Speaker 1: It lasts until they have all their shots.

    I can't understand what those shots they are talking about are. Might they be referring to vaccinations?

    I can't find it on any dictionary (actually I don't know how I made out its meaning...it was kind of intuition...lol)

    Congratulation on an excellent piece of deduction!

    Very common and very colloquial. It is based on this medical definition:

    shot (sht)n.1. A hypodermic injection.
    2. A small amount given or applied at one time.
