    "so so" or what

    Hello everybody,

I'm here again and I have a question .Here it is:
If you are to do something not having enough time to do it and in the nick of the time you have succeeded in doing it but it is not done the way it should be,and you want to put into words the fact that it is made only for the time being so as to satisfy some temporary goal or request, what word you would use :

We've made it ______,now I hope it will serve the purpose.

What word do I have to use to fill a gap? Is "so-so" a right word and is there some more appropriate word for the situation?

    Thanks

    Velimir

    Re: "so so" or what

Many thanks Anglika for your answer. I would like to know is the original sentence possible and natural in the given context :

We've made it so-so ,now I hope it will serve the purpose.

Is it possible to say that we've made something "so-so" to indicate something which has been made hastily or carelessly?

    Thanks again,

    Velimir

Not really. It's not how it is used.

We've made that thing. It's a bit so-so, but it will do for now.

You need an adverb: adequately or passably would both fit.
