    What does "mature age" mean?

    Dear teachers,

    Does "mature age" mean people who is over 18 or people who have been working for some time after they have left school?

    "Age of maturity" may have different meanings in different cultures.

    In the US it is usually 18. But I have seen it at 16, and then at age 40!

    It would help to have a context.

    "She was a woman of mature age" would imply that she is around 50 years old.

    What was the sentence in which you found the phrase?
