    Tough Time

Dear Teachers, I'm a little confused with it. Please explain it and remove this confusion.

    1. Give tough time time to sb. 2. Make life miserable for sb.

    thank you so much

    Re: Tough Time

He gave the clerk a tough time about his purchase.
(he acted miserable to the the clerk, arguing)

I am going through a tough time right now.
(a miserable time, not good time for me)

    Re: Tough Time

Exact meaning always depends on context and theese are without context but in general the meanings are as follows

    1. Give someone a tough time

By your actions cause someone to feel very uncomfortable and stressed. For example interrogate someone or otherwise put them under pressure.

    2. Make someone's life miserable

Cause someone great discomfort by continually putting under some form of stress for an extended period e.g. days, weeks or months.

I mis-read your questions because you said:
