    if you will

Hello, I hear this phrase a lot but I don’t know what it means. “if you will” Please tell me what it means and when do you say it?

    Thank you

    Re: if you will

In my opinion, this is a conditional statement for a future situation:

If you will do something, probably you are going to get or obtain another thing in reward.

If you will buy the groceries for your grandma, probably you are going to receive five dollars for that, or maybe she is going to allow you to spend the next week at her place.

In another hand, could be an answer, ie: I'll help you if you will go with me to the movies this Tuesday.

It means "if you're willing to do something", Catie.

A: Would you like me to help you with the dishes?

B: If you will, that'd be great.

    Re: if you will

"If you will" means "if you wish so" or "if you want, need or find appropriated so"
Example: I hope you drop by my place tonight, if you will.

    Re: if you will

    Also a short form for:

A = Shall I take these clothes up to the bedroom?
B = If you will [be so good as to do that].
