    at new year

    Is this okay?

I played volleyball at my house at new year.

does "at my house" needs to be changes?does it mean inside my house or just in the yard?
    and
should at new year be changed to on new year?
But some people say at Christmas.

But some people say at Christmas. "at New Year" indicates at the time of the New Year; "on New Year['s Day] indicates on January 1st. "At Christmas" = at Christmas-time.
